FAQs

Common questions that arise in the mind of a new student

How does one learn the Technique?

The technique is taught at Ten-Day residential courses.

How does one apply for the course?

  1. Read the Code of Discipline
This will tell you all you need to know about your course and what will be expected from you as a student. Once you've read this in full and are happy to proceed...
  2. Check the Course Schedule
This will give the dates and locations of all the courses running in South Africa. If this is your first course you must first sit a ten day course before applying for old student courses listed in the schedule. When you have picked the best date please consult your family or partner or other dependants that it works for them too. If so then please...
  3. Apply via the Course Schedule
Simply click on the "Apply" option next your chosen course in the schedule and follow the steps outlined therein.

How much does the course cost?

Because it has been found to be genuinely helpful, great emphasis is put on preserving the technique in its original, authentic form. It is not taught commercially, but instead is offered freely. No person involved in its teaching receives any material remuneration. There are no charges for the courses - not even to cover the cost of food and accommodation. All expenses are met by donations from people who, having completed a course and experienced the benefits of Vipassana, wish to give others the opportunity to benefit from it also.
